FAQs

Frequently asked questions:

Does the City of Covington have an official website?

Yes, and it is updated often! You can visit http://covington.municipalimpact.com for some of the same information that you find here, as well as the most recent updated water testing reports, information about the town meeting minutes, financial reports, and more. This is a wonderful and often underutilized resource that is available. Town meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month, and they take place at the Covington Municipal Building, located at 224 W Maine Street.

Where can local announcements be found and/or made?

Folks hang up flyers at several locations, including the Senior Center, Bank FB&T, the Post Office, and the gas station. Many folks also use the Covington Community Announcement Board page which can be found at the following link: Covington, Oklahoma Announcement Board

I am new to town, and I need to establish utility service. Where do I start?

Welcome! We are glad to have you. The Covington Utilities Authority handles your water, gas, and trash services. There is a $100 deposit for water and a $100 deposit for gas. Additional trash poly-carts are available for a small monthly fee. These services can be established at the Covington Municipal Building on Main Street. You will enter through the south door. Electric services are established through OGE, and it is easiest to access their website at OGE.com. Local fiber service is available through Pioneer Internet, and many people in town use streaming services, Direct TV, or Dish Network for cable. Visit The Town of Covington's Official Page for the most recent information.

How can I drop off food for the local food pantry?

The local food pantry is available for anyone and everyone living in the Covington-Douglas School District. The pantry is open on the last two Wednesdays of each month, from 3:30-4:30pm. Donations can be taken to the pantry directly during open hours, or they can be taken to any of the local churches in the town of Covington during their open hours. The church hours are listed under churches.

When is trash picked up?

Tuesday is trash pickup day, with the occasional adjustment for holidays, weather, or vehicle issues. Most cans are picked up during the morning hours, so be sure to get your poly-cart trash can to the street before they arrive. If you are renting a large dumpster, they are dumped on Fridays.

Is there a clothing closet in town?

Not at this time. We suggest you take your donations to thrift stores or clothing closets in Perry, Oklahoma or Enid, Oklahoma. These are the closest locations to Covington, Oklahoma.

Can I get antenna channels in Covington?

You bet! With the right kind of antenna and proper installation, you can get between 60 and 80 channels. Your antenna should be positioned North/Northwest, and many folks struggle to get KOCO 5 without an antenna booster. It is by far has the weakest signal strength in the area.
